About Our Director
Connie Varner joined the Cary Town Band in 2011 and performed as a Euphonium and Trombone player, as well as helping out in the percussion section when needed. She served as an Associate Conductor for a number of years and became the Music Director in October of 2022. Connie studied wind band conducting with Dr. Evan Feldman, at UNC Chapel Hill. Connie also performs with the Triangle Wind Ensemble, the Triangle Brass Band and the Little German Band & Dancers of Raleigh, where she manages their Alphorn group.
