John “Alex” Wellman is a retired USAF Command Pilot with over 2,600 hours of flight time in aircraft ranging from F-16 fighter jets to light sport aircraft and gliders. Known for his leadership and instructional expertise, he has served as an instructor, evaluator, and operational planner throughout a distinguished military career.
Alex’s aviation journey began in 1992 in a Cessna 150 with a Civil Air Patrol instructor. To fund his training, he worked at Butler Parachute Systems and earned his Senior Parachute Rigger’s License.
